Message from the Principal

The College motto Communitas, or belonging to a community in feeling, represents the core values of this College. We aim to provide the right environment for a student to develop both academically and as a person. As a past student and tutor I am keen to continue St Hilda’s tradition of friendliness and acceptance, where all students are encouraged to become involved in college life through the many activities our College provides.

Pastoral and academic support is an important feature of college life. Our experienced tutors and senior academic advisors play an active role in the college community. Many of our students have commented on how college tutorials and the advice of staff and senior students have helped them adjust to university life and excel in their studies.

The same students have also stressed that university life is not all about study. Our facilities provide students with a wide variety of extracurricular interests. For many, sport plays a major role in their lives, whilst for others the creative arts are pursued. In both areas I am proud of the College’s recent success in a variety of intercollegiate competitions.

I invite you to use this website to explore our facilities and programs. If you would like more information about St Hilda’s College or you would like to arrange a tour of our College, please contact our Registrar at registrar@hildas.unimelb.edu.au or telephone on +61 3 9248 8416
