The Marjorie Smart Fellowship
The Marjorie Smart Fellowship was established in 1982 to perpetuate the memory of the Foundation Principal of St Hilda’s College, Marjorie Smart, and her contribution to education in Australia and to international affairs.
Marjorie Smart introduced many of the values, which are central to the Communitas we enjoy today. A significant feature of her time as Principal was the guests she invited to the College, men and women who were prominent in the community.
The Fellowship Fund enables the College to invite an eminent person to visit St Hilda’s and give a public lecture as well as participate in the academic life of the College.
Lectures have covered a wide range of topics from Maritime Law, Developments in South Africa, Wik and Reconciliation.
