The Alice Paton Library

The Alice Paton Library is available- 24 hours a day, to all members of the College.

The College’s collection is intended to supplement materials located in the larger libraries on the University campus.

The Collection includes: frequently used books, reference books, fiction, examination papers, periodicals, music CDs, data CDs, chemistry model sets, microscopes, anatomical models and other study aids.

An online catalogue of the current collection is available from any computer logged onto the College network.

St Hilda’s places importance on acquiring new material for our collection. Books which are recommended on undergraduate reading lists are bought as a matter of course. All College members are encouraged to make recommendations for new material and all efforts are made to cater for the needs of the widest possible range of users.

Internet access is available from library workstations, or via the wireless network covering the library if students bring their laptop.

Photocopying facilities are also available in the library.
