Financial Information

College Annual Fee Covers:

  •  
  • A furnished single study bedroom

  •  
  • Residence for a 40 week period, which covers the full University year including mid semester and mid year breaks

  •  
  • 21 meals per week

  •  
  • IT connection to each residents room with 8GB download per year

  •  
  • Provision of telephone and voicemail in each resident’s room

  •  
  • Academic Program, including weekly tutorials and/or regular tutor consultations

    To prevent disruption to students who are still studying for exams, residents are required to vacate the College at the end of the University year within 24 hours of their last exam.
    College Fees for 2010
    St Hilda’s College Fees cover:

  •  
  • A furnished single study bedroom, with heating, for a 39 week period.

  •  
  • 21 meals per week. That is, 3 meals a day 7 days a week.

  •  
  • The Tutorial Program with a weekly one hour tutorial class in most subjects. The fifteen resident tutors have an academic and pastoral role through the tutorial program.

  •  
  • The Academic Mentoring Program. This program is for first year students to assist them in managing their transition to university life and to support their academic progress and personal development.

  •  
  • Pastoral Care Program. The Principal and Vice Principal deal with issues related to pastoral care and maintain an open door policy for students to discuss issues of concern.

  • All student rooms include a telephone facility with voicemail.

  •  
  • Use of laundry facilities for personal washing.

  •  
  • Internet access. Each student room is equipped with a data outlet to access the University, Internet and email network.

  •  
  • College Intranet. The College runs an intranet system as an information gateway for residents.

  •  
  • Use of the Alice Paton Library for study and access to its printed and non-printed collection, periodicals, reference materials and other study aids.

  •  
  • Use of the Computer Laboratory, which is assisted by an IT Officer and the Student Network Support Team.

    In 2009 St Hilda’s College Basic Annual Fee is AUD$17,140 for a 39 week period of residence. This covers the full university year including mid semester and mid year breaks, but excludes Easter when the college is closed.
    The College fees for 2010 are set by the College Council in November 2009 as part of the Annual Budget. These fees will become available as soon as they have been approved by Council.
    To prevent disruption to students who are still studying for exams, residents are required to vacate the College at the end of the University year within 24 hours of their last exam.
    Fees are billed twice a year – on the first of February and the first of August. Fees are payable within 30 days of the account being issues unless alternative arrangements have been made with the Business Manager.
    Additional Fees:
    In addition to the Basic Annual Fee, students are required to pay:

    An Annual Subscription of $200 to the Student Club

    A telephone advance of $200 which is applied to the cost of calls made from the telephone located in the student’s room. There is no telephone rental applied. (Unused portion is refundable)


    New Entry Students are required to pay:

  • An Enrolment Fee of $500

  •  
  • An Orientation Week Fee of $400

  •  
  • A Bond of $400 (This is refunded of the room is not damaged during occupancy)

  • An Academic Gown Hire Fee of $30
